In an ideal world we would all get links from the home pages of PR 10 websites. The problem with that strategy is that there are only about 10 PR 10 sites world wide, and unsurprisingly they are mostly unwilling to give links to anyone bold enough to ask.

Developing a proactive marketing strategy that will provide a consistent stream of good quality web traffic is not an impossible task. To get traffic you need a significant presence and to gain a presence you need firstly a good site that Google can read and understand, and secondly a network of high quality links to your website from many other authority websites.

Although this sounds quite difficult and complex, reasonably easy to achieve because of all the systems that are around that can do it for you. First though, you need to grasp the concept that not all links are equal. Google Page Rank is a good indicator of how much a link from a given site will be worth. Google ranks pages 0-10, 0 being the least valuable sites that is knows about, and 10 being the most valuable and popular sites. Below rank 0 or n/a means either that Google isn’t aware of the sites existance or that you should avoid that site because it has been blacklisted.

In an ideal world we would all get links from the home pages of PR 10 websites. The problem with that strategy is that there are only about 10 PR 10 sites world wide, and unsurprisingly they are mostly unwilling to give links to anyone bold enough to ask. This means that we have to find our links from lower PR sites. Even finding PR 7 and 8 sites that will give us links is difficult, they themselves are very popular authority websites and as such they as choosy as to who they link to and who they dont.

What you’re aiming to do it to get links from as many of the highest PR websites as you possibly can, and/or from new sites with no PR yet, but that show potential to have a good PR in the future (basically sites that are building links to promote themselves). Looking out for sites like these is a good long term strategy to undertake because you never know what sites will have high PR in a few months / a year or so’s time.

So how does one go about getting these links together? Well, that is just the question. You can hunt down sites online that seem to link to other sites. There are quite a few sites about that provide reciprocal linking. The flaw with these is that reciprocal links aren’t really worth a great deal any more (although they are woth something as sometimes two-way links are natural eg.customer & supplier etc.they’re just not worth much). This is because the major search engines have cottoned on to the arrangement being made between sites with this type of link, they have therefore begun to downgrade their worth.

The most effective way to get to the top of the search engines is through one way linking, or to put it another way, getting good websites to link to you without you linking back to them. This, as you can imagine, is not easy. Why would a quality site link to you anyway? Some might actually like your website, service or information and link to it as a reference for their own visitors, but in the main they will want something in exchange for the link.

You may have some difficulty with this if you only have one website, or if you have two that are hosted in the same place, they’ll have the same IP address and so it will look to search engines as if they are they the same site. The are lots of solutions to this problem, but one way links are definately the most effective.

Effectively, your site is entered into a triangular arrangment where your site (site A) links to site B, which then links to site C, which then links back to site A (your site) this is beneficial to each site to the value of one one-way link. The big search engines cannot trace these links and so they reward you with a big push up the results rankings.

The various kinds of link building strategies may seem over your head at first, but give yourself enough time to become familiar with them. Read some of the most fundamental types of linking strategies.

Join the forum discussion on this post

Reciprocal Links, purchased links, link bait, etc. Is one type of link better than another in the eyes of search engines. Do reciprocal links even work anymore? Which type of link carries with it the most weight? There are a lot of considerations to make which will determine what type of linking strategy you will choose to deploy.

To begin with, let’s take a look at some of the most fundamental types of linking strategies which have been used by internet marketers.

There is of course the natural linking method. This type of organic link occurs when a site has such good and well written content that other webmasters take notice and make reference to it from their own website. This type of link can be easy to obtain if a particular site has unique content and already is pretty well trafficked. To get a site like this off the ground can be rather difficult if no one knows it exists. There must be other ways! And there are…

There is the reciprocal link. When a webmaster finds a site that complements the content of their own site, they may email the webmaster and say basically “I will link to your site if you link to mine”. Many times a webmaster may simply link to the other site and ask for a link in return. This frequently works and can be quite effective, although this type of link has lost some of its value in the search engines.

Some may choose to purchase links that point to have them point to their own site. The more highly trafficked a site, of the higher the pagerank of that site, the more it will cost to have them put a link there which points to your site. You have probably already seen these types of links. They are found along the sides of a webpage or at the botton with the heading ’sponsored links’.

Another method for attaining links is called ‘link baiting’. This method, when implemented properly, can help build links at a pretty fast pace. It can be done by getting a scoop on certain news or by piggy backing on the popularity of other sites such as ‘digg’ or ‘del.icio.us. Write some good content, or write about something controversial which will cause others to take notice and link to you. It is usually blogs that participate in this type of linking strategy and it can be effective.

The various kinds of link building strategies may seem over your head at first, but give yourself enough time to become familiar with them. Depending on the type of website you own, it can be quite lucrative.

Apparently it is here to stay: the power of the inbound link. Google values the inbound link in a powerful way. It’s a vote for your site, and without the votes, you don’t get that Googletrust and you don’t get that ranking. Getting the right mix of links is crucial, and how to even get these links is a mystery to most, and a pain in the rear to the rest of us. But with the right effort and knowledge, you can create a logical mix of inbound links that will indicate to search engines that your site is valuable.

But first to point out the obvious, without a decent, valuable site, your link building will be wasted. Search engines try and mostly do reward sites that are relevant to search terms, useful to visitors. So gaming the system without trying to truly have a worthwhile site will not work. It may work for a short time, but for longevity, you are still wise to focus on what the visitor wants and needs.

But still, it is a hard fact that is here to stay: the SEO work must be done or your site will end up ignored. Obtaining links, proper structure, not too much flash, fresh content, fresh content, add a blog, directory and articles submitted, press releases, widgets, meta tags, keyword density not too high not too low. All the basics have to be included or even that wonderful site that sells purple pillows shaped like mushrooms will not rank for ‘purple mushroom pillows’. (Ok that is pretty long, maybe it would… but you get the point) There are only so many articles one can provide to their visitors about the benefits of purple mushroom pillows, and how to best care for purple pillows, and the reasons mushroom shaped pillows are the best. Early on in your SEO work, you will realize that all of this manipulation is not adding value to your visitors at all. But it just must be done.

It is reality that the incoming links are an integral part of this manipulation of your campaign for the search engines. Your link building campain will include the natural links that occur by chance (or by link baiting, adding lots of content and press releases and viral marketing). And you should balance this with a large volume of small links and a handful of heavy duty links from higher PR pages, or from some EDU links or GOV links. The sites ranking high in results have plenty of links, most likely a portion of them are paid links, it is just reality.

Link campaign tips: Keep it well rounded. Work towards a mix of high PR links and lots of smaller ones, even PR below yours. Shoot for links in content whenever possible, they are still absolutely the best. Keep the timing natural, you do not want tons of links showing up at one time, it is unnatural. Use a variety with your anchor text, do not overoptimize for one keyword. And point the anchor text to the complementary internal page, not just the homepage.

Overwhelming? Link building is not for the faint of heart, and the SEO companies that are taking this on are worth every penny.

When you’re a webmaster you need to build 1 way backlinks to your Wordpress blog or site in order to make sure that you increase your search engine rankings. 1 way backlinks are the hardest backlinks to get because they involve the most amount of work to get, but this is why they are valuable in the search engines and highly sought after by webmasters. There are lots of ways you can gain 1 way backlinks to your site or Wordpress blog and they’re all typically useful in some way but there are some that will rank better then others.

The best type of 1 way link to receive is through another website or weblog blog related to yours where they give you an in-content 1 way link.

This can happen from you posting great content on your niche and sometimes you can also ask to be mentioned on a blog in return for content or links on other sites of yours. If you can build your links this way then you stand an amazing chance at getting lots of search engine rankings in time.

Another few methods you can use when you build 1 way backlinks to your site or Wordpress blog are article directories, Free directories in your niche, social bookmarking and Wordpress blog commenting. All four of these methods can get you lots of 1 way backlinks and in time they will end up helping your site or Wordpress blog rank well. The methods above don’t have a sudden impact on your search rankings but as they start to age the rankings will start to improve.

You can build hundreds of 1 way backlinks to you are blogs and websites by using the formulas outlines above and if you’re serious about taking you are websites to the next level then you need to spend the time building backlinks. You won’t really see fast results from you are efforts but as you are backlinks age they will begin to rank better in the SEO and you’ll soon begin to have great rankings.

To make revenue off of your sites you need search engine traffic for the most part, well as long as you want to make revenue without revenue then that’s your option. If you want to spend revenue to make revenue then you can try other methods, but for the most part if you want to make revenue without spending any then search engine traffic is your best friend.

You can make a lot of revenue through the right keywords and you’ll need to figure out which keywords you should optimize on your Wordpress blog or site. Ideally you should rank for many terms in the search engines and in time you will begin to, you just need to always promote your blogs and sites with 1 way link building campaigns to get the rankings.

Once you’ve achieved the rankings you want then you also need to still continue building one way links so that you hold the position and noone steals it from you.

I feel the most effective way to get people to link to your web site is by offering web masters the option of giving away your free stuff. In exchange, they link to your web site. Why would other web masters want to do this? They may want give away a freebie to draw traffic to their web site. They also may not have the time, knowledge or skills to give away certain types of electronic freebies from their web site.

Your links will just keep multiplying. When a web master offers your freebie to his or her visitors. Those visitors may decide to also give away your freebie. And so on and so on… The more people that link to your web site the more traffic you’ll get. Below are four of the most popular types of freebies given away on the internet to increase traffic.

Free Software

Offer free software from your web site. The software could be freeware, shareware or demos.

Free Online Services

Offer a free online service from your web site. The online service could be an e-mail account, search engine submission or e-mail consulting, etc.

Free Information

Offer valuable free information from your web site. The information could be a report, article, e-book, online audio recording or e-mail course, etc.

Free Affiliate Program

Offer a free affiliate program from your web site. The affiliate program could be pay per sale, click through, two tiered, etc.

Now, I know, there are many other ways to get links like trading or exchanging links with other web sites or joining a banner exchange. You can also do joint ventures or cross promoting. I feel these are not as effective as multiplying your links. I hope this article can help you increase traffic to your web site.

Wide links may seem to possess a lot of potential, but in reality this strategy is not all it is cracked up to be. For example, if there are ten thousand pages in a site, there could be an equal number of backlinks. The point is that Google overlooks the large number of links which are originating from the same site. All the ten thousand backlinks may not be taken into account, limiting your expected returns.

Great deals could also involve article and directory submission or backlinks from a network of blogs. It is recommended that you do not buy several directory submission services as in all probability, they point towards the same sites. To get one of the best deals in the market with regard to directory submission, be prepared to spend a lot of time in research. A thousand directory submissions means that you have struck a magnum deal.

With regard to article submissions, you have to ensure that they are not submitted to the same directories so the best option is to ask for samples or list of the directories. Again, if you get services where they submit to a thousand article directories, you have struck a grand deal. You need not continue with your research for a better deal, as it could mean back-breaking work.

When you buy backlinks a whole lot of links would be aimed at your site. It is surely a grand thing to happen but you have to make sure that you use different anchor texts. Produce six to eight permutations and combinations with all your main key words and use them at once. Variations would involve choosing the keywords and creating new key words out of it, retaining the main keyword. You do not have to take it in all earnestness, just ensure that the words are changed at times. Another important thing to look for when buying backlinks on a network of blogs is that the blogs are not on the same IP address. No pageranks hardly matters but they must be indexed.

Certain deals consist of purchasing links from high pagerank websites, but these are usually more expensive. It makes no business sense in getting into such deals if your budget can not accommodate it, but if you buy several links from zero to low pagerank sites, it could be worth the effort. The most that is expected of you is to ensure that the sites are indexed.

Relevant, respected websites that link to yours without having links back to them are search engine gold. This kind of link lets the search engines know your site is worth linking to, and it offers the kind of information that searchers are looking for when they type in your keywords.

An easy way to build up your inbound link count is by approaching website owners and asking for a link, or by sending them articles (with a link to your site) that would be interesting to their audiences. But before you do, here’s a list of what to look for.

Great inbound links…

- Come from relevant sites. If your site is about dog training, don’t go after a link from a site that sells piano lessons.

- Look natural. If people were linking to your website randomly, they wouldn’t all use the same anchor text, and they wouldn’t all link to you in the same week. So when you give out the links you want people to use, vary the anchor text and build them up gradually over time.

- Aren’t lost among dozens of other links. You don’t want the page your link is on to have more than two dozen outbound links… the fewer the better (unless the link is from a directory).

- Are placed in a good position on the site. Negotiate to get your link embedded in a natural position — usually within some text in the main body area. The search engines can discredit links found in the footer, right-hand side, or other popular areas where advertising usually goes.

Don’t stress about getting your link on the homepage. Deep links within a strong complementary website are still great.

- Are found on sites that are indexed regularly. Sites that aren’t indexed regularly will not carry as much weight.

- Are on sites that have been around for a while. Older sites are more credible

- Are on sites with high Google PageRank. Links from high PageRank sites, will get you higher rankings in search listings. However, if you find a website that would be a great partner but the PageRank is 3 or lower, they are still worthwhile

Collecting inbound links is one of the most powerful strategies for getting high rankings in the search results. It’s worth spending time on.

There are a lot of people who start the services of social bookmark submission. In fact, social bookmark has become a standard of web site promotion. As a result, you should try to submit to the social bookmark sites in order to promote your web site.

Without any surprise, you should know how to use the bookmarking function in your web browser. However, the idea of social bookmarks may probably be something new to you. In fact, you can treat social bookmarking sites as websites which offer you the function to bookmark your favorite sites.

You may think that you can bookmark your favorite sites using your web browser. In fact, it is really good to bookmark the site so that you can refer to it from time to time. However, it will not be possible for you to remember all your favorite sites when you are not using your own computer. Consequently you will want to be able to access your bookmarks even if you are not using your own computer.

This is why people will use social bookmarking sites. When they bookmark their favorite sites, they will be stored into the database of the bookmarking sites. They will be able to access the bookmarks when they login to the site.

What is even more interesting is that you can share your bookmark with the others. If you set the bookmarks to be visible to the public, other web surfers will be able to see your favorite sites.

This is how the social bookmark sites can help you to promote your website. Since your website is visible to the public via the social bookmarking sites, you will be able to promote your website in these social bookmarking sites.

The link of site may also appear in the first page of the social bookmarking sites. If you site is really popular in the social bookmarking site, which means that a lot of people put your site as their favorite site in the social bookmarking site, your site will probably be shown in the first page of the social bookmarking site.

As a matter of fact, social bookmarks can help to improve the link popularity of your site. When you bookmark your site, there will be a link to your site. This will certainly help to boost your search engine ranking in the long run.

While we don’t often think about – or care – how Google works, it is very important for anyone who is using search engine optimization, or natural search marketing for their business to understand the basic principles that drive the Google search engine.

There are three main parts to Google: Googlebot, The Indexer, and the Query Processor. Believe it or not, understanding how each of the parts works is crucial to your online businesses. Let’s take a look at each of the elements to see how they work.

Googlebot is the search engine spider that visits your website and spiders your pages. It isn’t an actual spider, of course.

It actually works more like a web browser by calling a server, requesting pages, and downloading them – just as you do when you open your web browser, type in an web address, and the page loads.

Googlebot, however, is run by numerous computers and performs this task much faster than one user could on their home or work computer. Googlebot also doesn’t know that a website exists until a URL is put into their Add URL form, or until they find a link to that website on another web page.

When Googlebot visits a page, they take all the links from that page, put them in a queue for crawling, and just repeat this process over and over again. Once Googlebot has found a link, and downloaded the page, it hands that page off to the Indexer.

The Indexer stores the pages in Google’s Index Data base. The Index then sorts all of the pages in its database, alphabetically, by looking at all of the keywords on the pages. The Indexer does not pay any attention to what Google calls stop words, such as is, on, or, why, how, etc. It just pays attention to more important keyword type words.

The Indexer, after Indexing pages, waits for the Google Query Processor to ask it for a list of documents. A keyword is given to the Query Processor, which in turn asks the Indexer for a list of stored websites contain that keyword.

The Indexer then supplies the Query processor with a list of the documents, and the Query processor presents the documents to the user who requested the keyword.

As you see, each element is important to the others. It all starts with the Googlebot finding your webpage link on another page, or by you going to Google and using the Add form to list your website.

How does Google and other Search Engines think about Links and Link manipulation. In this article find out what things should you look for and how should you judge the value of a link?

We all know what influence links have on your website PR and overall rank in search engines. Way before importance of Page Rank and link manipulation started webmasters will get links for different reasons like to get traffic from that site or for endorsements but no one was really thinking about getting organic search engine traffic by manipulating links.

As we realized the importance of links and what they can do for our websites more manipulative linking started with Link Networks, “unrelated” Reciprocal linking, Paid Linking,… And that did work for a while but Google and other engines have been cracking down on these automated link creation programs and link farms.

So how do you create a white hat link, the one that appears to be natural and Google will give it’s vote to? The answer is simple, just ask your self “will this link help my reader get more value?” and “would I create this link even if search engines did not exist?”. If you answer yes to these two questions, than search engines are more than likely count that link.

Watch this video by Rand Fishkin, CEO of SEOMOZ.org that explains this theory little more, like they say “picture is worth thousands words”.

We all know that one of the main ways of getting better rankings is to get lots of links pointing to your site. You can get a lot of reciprocal links by exchanging links with other websites and link exchange directories but Google and other Search Engines don’t give as much “weight” anymore to those kind of links as much as they do to non-reciprocal or “one-way” links. They will sooner or later find links from such directories, and you are risking your website disappearing out of the ranking and search results.

How do you get “one-way” links? You can buy those kind of links if you have money, you can use Free Article Submitter and submit articles to article directories and that is free but that requires you to write the articles first (or pay freelancer to do it for you). Both of these require either money or your precious time.

Or you can join the new text Link Revolution at tnx.com where you can get tons of non-reciprocal links from thousands of relevant websites and free text link ads. TNX is a new text link advertising platform aimed at both publishers and advertisers.

Joining TNX is free and it is very simple process with only the most basic information that is required at sign up.

Once you’re logged in, you come to the main dashboard, which is really nicely designed
and very easy to use and it is where you
control all campaigns
as a publisher or an advertiser.

The main advantage for webmasters is that they can sell links on every page of their websites, instead of just the main page.

This could be up to 10 times more profitable than selling sitewide links.

Also webmaster can choose only relevant ads to be displayed.

The main advantage for advertisers is the cheap price, and also the ability to promote hundreds of different keywords.

And you don’t even have to input all keywords manually – they can be imported automatically from text Notepad or Excel file(txt or csv).

Here are some interesting notes from the site :

Links are not served on pages which are not trafficked, so publishers cannot charge for links on their sites for pages which are hidden and not served.

TNX pushes publishers to serve ads in noticeable areas of the sites : “they are useful for the visitor and are not meant only for search bots”

TNX says it does not know of a “single case when participation in our system would do any harm to any of our partners.”

Since currency is not used, TNX makes it easy to buy links on sites which are based in other countries, without dependency on Paypal or other checkout systems.

If TNX is based on a points system, is it buying links?

TNX has over 25,000 different users (advertisers and publishers) with over 27 Million links in their system, with over 15,000 new links created by the hour on over 17 million different web pages.

Links are purchased and maintained on a monthly basis, so you’re essentially renting the link.

SEO Consultants & Agencies get a discount.

They also have affiliate program for webmasters where you will earn 13.3% of all “TNX-points”, he/she will earn in the future (a reward for referring an advertiser is also available) when you bring a new webmaster to the TNX system. What is cool about it is that you can either use points to advertise your own websites to improve traffic and search engine rating or sell them to the TNX system for cash.

Sign up for free account and see for your self all the advantages of TNX System.

One of the most effective ways to gain better positions is getting tons of links pointing to your website. But not just any link will do the job, we want Quality One Way Links and Contextually Related.

There are many black hat tricks and tactics available today (like “link farms” and such) but don’t waste your time on those because they will only bring you short term gain.

Instead, use a few tried and true SEO techniques and principles for they will get you in good standing with Google and bring long lasting traffic and rankings.

First one , and the one that you should concentrate on the most is providing Quality and Unique Content on your website or blog. Content, Content and more Content, Search Engines Love Content. You can write your own (if you don’t know how then check out these SpeedWriting and Article writing Tools) or you can get Free Content from many Free Articles Directory sites.

Second important and very effective SEO technique is getting quality, one way links pointing to your website. There is no doubt that the more quality one way links you can get pointing to your website, the higher you will rank, period.

One of the easiest known ways to get quality, one way links is by finding free website directories and then submitting your url to them. I know, this can be a very tedious and slow process, but at the same time very rewarding.

Here you also have few options, you can submit your website to free directories manually, pay someone to do it for you, OR you can use FREE software that I’ve been using to get these quality one way links.
Read more about it Here:Free Directory Submitter and Download Free copy Here:Free Download

Recently I had a reader post comment on article I wrote at Amazines.com on this subject (Read the article: Subitting Website to Directories for quality one way links! )

She wrote: “Dear DAMIR

This is one of the most useful information so far. We, the newbies, are struggling to get backlinks to our sites and blogs and getting indexed in Google. Am downloading the s/ware. If the software works it will be a great help for my newly created blog http://buyprojectquickcash.blogspot.com/

Thanks a lot

Anil Pandey”

And I have to agree that this free software is most helpful if you are newbie and trying to get some Google “Love” and get indexed quickly. The only thing I would suggest is to submit your site to a few directories every week and not to all of them in few days, you have to make your link building look “Natural” to Search Engines.

Another great way to get one way links is to submit articles to free article directories. To make this process a lot quicker and more organized I use also Free Software .
Read about it here: Best Free Link Building Tool! and Download Here: Free Download!

So there it is, the tried and true SEO technique for link building. Enjoy.

Are you using Free Directory and Article Submitter?
If not, what Link Building Technique do you use?

I guess I’ll post this in “Link Building” category even though it relates to “Page Rank”, “Website Traffic” and “SEO” categories.

There is still a debate over certain links hurting your website page rank (like if you link to authority website with no linkback to your site or reciprocal link with Non-Related website…). I believe that any link is better than no link; it’s still a vote in Google’s eyes.

Of course reciprocal link with related website (in same niche) is better than non-related but permanent one way links are the best, it will get your site higher link popularity, page rank and search engine placement over time.

Just a quick note for those who are not familiar with the subject: What is the difference between Reciprocal and One Way Links? Reciprocal link is when you exchange link with another website e.g. you place a link on your site in return for incoming link to your site, it is like a half a vote where one way link is more of a full vote. That is how Google figures your website’s page rank and partially your search placement, of course related content is No.1 factor in determining placement in search results but if two websites have similar or same content, website with higher page rank will place higher in search results.

From this it is very easy to see great advantages in acquiring permanent one way links as they are good quality, the only draw back it is not always easy getting quality links. Another reason why one way links are so important is that you don’t have to worry about the links from sites that are considered bad neighborhoods, what this means is that since your site does not link back to the bad site you do not have to worry about being punished by Google. A bad neighborhood is a usually spam site that is banned from Google.

Links from search engines or web directories are a form of a non-reciprocal linking even though most paid directories have a option for reciprocal link which if than free. In most cases, inclusion in directories will increase your rank as you get high quality links to your site. Link Directories or web directories are sites that are divided into categories, each category will have many different sites with links and descriptions, and this makes it easier for internet users to find what they are looking for. As I said earlier one way incoming links from web directories are more beneficial than link exchanges.

There is a Free Directory Submitter Software that will make submitting your site to directories a breeze,
Read about it here: Free Directory Submitter Post
Download here: free Directory Submitter

Still, writing articles is the best and most effective way to establish one way links. Do some research on your keywords you are going to use and include this in your bio. Submit your article to as many article sites as possible with your link. Other webmasters will see your article and use it for content on their sites; the condition is that they need to keep your link intact.

I can’t stress enough how much easier it is submitting articles with Free Article Submitter Software,
Read more here: Best and Free Link Building Tool
Download here: Free Article Submitter Software

When using an anchor text the search engines match the keyword with the words around it so it know if they keyword is relevant to the topic, plus the search engines look at the site to see if there is a correlation. When you hear the term anchor text everyone is referring to the name that is associated with the link that points back to the website. One way links coming to your site with Keyword Rich anchor text is only true beneficial link. Generating links that contain anchor text will skyrocket your website rankings. Links to your site, using your keywords in the link text are still the key to ranking well today.

By submitting your site to Directories and submitting articles to Article Directories you will get some extra free traffic as well. The more articles you write and distribute and the more directories you submit your site to, the more traffic you will receive to your site. One can use this method to try and draw in user traffic as well as use other procedures to bring visitors to their particular site. The best way to increase website traffic is to get the word out amongst Internet users in any way possible.

Social Bookmarking websites and Community websites is the best and free way of spreading the word. Join free communities like Myspace.com, MyBlogLog.com, StumbleUpon.com, SpicyPage.com, Squidoo.com, etc…. and start interacting with users.
I personally use all of these and see traffic increase slowly but surely.

Another great place to get the word out is Yahoo Answers; a lot of times when I search Google, topics from Yahoo Answers come up in top results. So just experiment a bit and see what works for you. There are proven methods of getting better rank and traffic to your website and these days it can be achieved with little or no money it just takes time and a little research but also new ways are discovered every day so be open to new things.

I strongly suggest downloading free Directory Submitter and Free Article Submitter Software and try it out; it will make your fight for better rank and traffic a lot easier.

Enjoy!

I just can’t get enough of Free Article Submitter. I think is the Best New Free Link Building Tool available today. So I decided to do another more in depth review.

In any case Article Submitter Software acts as a control panel in a way.
All Directories are in there and you can be taken to any Directory submit page with a single click. Keeps your username and password for the Directories that require account login. It displays Information about the Directories like Google PR, Alexa Rank, if HTML is allowed, if Login is Required and it shows which articles you have already submitted and the date submitted.

All your articles are there in drop down menu and what I started doing is I would submit one article to a few directories and than edit the article directly in the software and save it than submit to more Directories.
Leaving my Author and Bio Info and resource box with my links the same and not having to retype that info again.

Article Submitter does not run on autopilot and submits your articles to all directories at once which I think is better leaving you the control of how, where and when the article is submitted.
That way you can (and probably should) submit maybe to a few Directories a day and make it look more natural to the Search engines (instead of your article being submitted to 100 Directories in 1 hour, I think that would look suspicious and would pull the red flag in Google) as well as the ability to edit the article if you need to before submitting it again.
So it is not FULLY Automated submitter which I believe is much better. It really is a Control Panel with quick access to the Directories and your articles and ability to submit articles much quicker.

I have used this tool for few weeks now and so far I like it, just to have list of directories is worth the effort of downloading and installing (the tool is actually FREE).

Download your Free Copy here: Free Article Submitter! http://seojr.com/Article_Submitter/

Enjoy.

While article submission isn’t anything shockingly new to the world of SEO, many people STILL don’t do it… and for good reason. It takes so incredibly long to do manually.

I’ll admit, I had tried article submission at one point, but after I finally found a few article directories to submit my articles to, and then after manually copying and pasting my information into the required textboxes on each submission site, I quickly realized that my time could be better spent doing something else.

Then I came across a free program that allows you to automatically submit your articles to hundreds of article directories with a few mouse clicks. Basically all you have to do is input article criteria into the software, ONCE! Then, the program will automatically fill in all of the required data at each of the submission websites. Pretty incredible if you ask me.

The only part I don’t understand is why the program is free… but I can’t argue with that I suppose.

The software currently contains around 800 article directories, all free to submit your articles to. It is the most straightforward program that I’ve come across, in that all you need to do is:

1. Input your article details (i.e. title, article body, bio, etc.) into the software

2. Click on the directory you want to submit to

And then the program will automatically fill in your article details. Then, you simply click the submit button and your article is instantly submitted to the directory. Then, you can move to the next directory, go through the list, and by the time you’re finished you’ll have roughly 700 one way links pointing to your website.

I can’t think of an easier way to get links. Of course, if you’re going to get links this quickly, it’s important to submit different variations of your articles, to make things look more natural to the search engines.

You can do this very easily via Article Submitter when you create your project in the beginning.

You should check out the software NOW! It’s FREE!

Many webmasters who have been following the discussions about
Google’s dislike of paid links have been confused about what
constitutes bad links and good links, in the eyes of the search
engine companies. In this article, I will seek to answer many of
the questions people have on this topic.

There are two kinds of links that you can pay to have made for
you: rented or paid links, and permanent links.

Introduction To Paid Links, Or More Accurately Rented Links

With Rented links, you can generally make your purchase decision
based on the PageRank of a page.

The downside with rented links is that Google has stated that
(http://www.stonetemple.com/articles/interview-adam-lasnik.shtml)
they do not like links that are sold on the basis of PageRank,
and they are trying to create systems to identify links rented
for PageRank, for the purpose of discounting those links. While
they may eventually be able to target and negate links developed
by systems like Text-Link-Ads.com or TextLinkBrokers.com, they
will never be able to completely identify and discount all links
that are sold for the purposes of PageRank .

In the end, I suppose Google is not going to penalize the Source
or Target websites for those links, but they will nullify the
value of the individual links in the Google algorithms. Cutts
suggested and implemented the “rel=nofollow” a while back as a
tool webmasters could use for the purpose of identifying links
for which the webmaster did not want to pass PageRank. The only
thing that Google’s algorithm will actually do to links
identified as rented or paid links is that it will treat those
links as “rel=nofollow’s”. If Google succeeds in their quest,
the webmaster buying the links will be throwing away his or her
money, if they are buying placement on a webpage solely for the
purpose of influencing PageRank.

The Story Of Permanent Links

The second kind of link is the permanent link. Permanent links
come in many formats, and in most cases should generally be
viewed as non-rental links. With rental links, you pay a fee for
placement once a month, quarter or year.

Of course, the Yahoo directory is not viewed as a paid link by
the Google engineers, because although you “pay” to get the
link, Yahoo does not guarantee placement of your link in their
directory. Instead, Yahoo says that we are paying them to
“review our link.” This is why Google is not discounting links
from the Yahoo directory. Those Yahoo links are nice to have, but
they still do require a yearly review for commercial websites,
which must be paid for on a yearly basis.

Permanent in all cases is in the eye of the beholder. Permanent
as a rule in the Internet world means that you will not have to
pay another fee later to keep that link on the page, where it
will reside. In the context of links on the Internet, permanent
actually means that the link will live at that location, until
the webmaster who owns the website changes his or her website’s
direction OR goes out of business.

In my experience, perhaps 10% of the websites where we get
links placed will go under within one year. Towards the end of
the second year, webmasters will look at their Profit/Loss and
make a determination whether their income level will justify
shooting for a third year of operation. Another 20% will close
their website at the end of the second year run. So, 30% will
drop out of business, within their first two years. Of the
remaining 70%, many of those websites will survive to the fifth
year and beyond. I don’t know how long one will be able to count
on a permanent link just yet, but links that I built for myself
in 1999 continue to produce traffic for my websites today, and
those links have sent me continuous traffic for years.

Permanent, One-Way Links

Many permanent one-way links can be acquired on pages that
currently have PageRank on them. In those cases, it may simply be
a matter of your link being added to a list of links already on
someone’s web page.

However, any link created through a content development method,
such as pay-per-post or article marketing, will be posted on a
new page on the Internet. All new pages on the Internet begin
life at PageRank Zero. It is like the birth of a baby. The baby
begins small, but grows into a child, then a teen, and finally an
adult. All article pages begin their lives at PageRank Zero, and
most of those new pages will increase in PageRank as they age.
Some web pages will never mature beyond PR1, but others can grow
into pages that are as high as PR6 (at least that is the highest
I have seen an article page to date).

If you trust Matt Cutts of Google, he has indicated that all new
pages begin life at PageRank Zero and in the Supplemental
Results. He also said that Supplementals are not the end of the road.
Cutts stated that the only thing required to bring a
web page out of the Supplemental Results is to have that web
page gain PageRank. (For those curious why a page went from
the Primary Results to Supplemental Results, the answer is that
either Google began counting links differently OR the links that
gave a web page PageRank no longer exist.)

Three Reasons Why Article Marketing Helps Link Building

My conclusion from this information, and I might be biased, is
that the use of article marketing for link building is a positive
in the Google algorithms.

* I conclude this because links developed through article
marketing begin on pages that have a PR Zero. So, we are
obviously not getting links placed on websites for the sole
purpose of acquiring PageRank, not directly anyway. We are
placing links for the sake of having links, but with good luck,
many of those links will gain PageRank over the long haul.

* By the very nature of article marketing, we can ensure that
the links we develop for our websites reside on web pages that
are tightly focused and targeted to the content of our websites.

* Most websites that post articles do so through a process of
moderation, meaning that all article placements have been human
reviewed. That human review process at the other end of the
transaction puts most article websites on par with Yahoo’s
human-reviewed directory.

When we can get our keywords embedded into the link pointing to
our websites, then that is always a much better deal. But, that
outcome will be affected by the webmaster at the other end of the
process. Each webmaster has his or her own rules for article
placement, and some of those folks simply do not permit embedded
keywords in our links, either in the body of the article or in
the about the author information. A plain text link is better
than no link at all, although we always strive to get embedded
keywords in our links.

Final Thoughts

When you write a great article people will link to it, no matter
where it may reside. So in time, the pages that house your
article will gain PageRank.

As the article’s author, you are in total control of the
relevance of the web page linking to your website.

Just as you are in control of relevance, you are also in control
of whether people will choose to reprint your article. Write a
good article, and people will use it.

You are going to love this. Imagine a free Directory Submitter
tool that allows you to submit your sites to 350 directories.

Sound too good to be true?

Well my buddy Brad Callen has just released a tool called Directory Submitter (not to be confused with another tool of the same name
that costs $97). This tool is absoultely free.

Why is he doing this?

Well, there is an ulterior motive. His tool does contain some adds
to his other software like SEO Elite and Keyword Elite. However,
these ads are not obtrusive. There is also a Pro version of the
Directory submitter which submits to over 1700 directories.

Just a few highlights:

Quickly submit your website(s) to TONS of directories!
Instantly get quality, 1 way links, in as little as 1 mouse click!
Submit an unlimited number of websites!
Add unlimited anchor text and description variations!
Plus much more!

I bought the pro version this morning after playing with the free
version for half an hour. Both the free and commercial versions
are as good as the “other” Directory Submitter I have been using.

You can download the free version here: free directorysubmitter

Hope you get it and start getting free links to your site.

Enjoy.

When a trusted website links to yours you suddenly get immediate attention. There are three major link strategies: 1) Purchasing text links 2) Employing a link finding service 3) Reciprocal linking. This article focuses on the latter-reciprocal linking. Reciprocal linking means that your website links to another and their website links back to yours. Its a great way to increase your ranking in search engines. Search engines use link popularity to rank sites. Therefore exchanging reciprocal links with other websites will encourage visitors to not only visit your website but bookmark it as well. Now, this is not as simple as throwing your links all over the World Wide Web. If that were the case nearly all websites would be popular. In order to have success with reciprocal linking you should bare in mind these factors. The quality of links should out weigh the quantity. The inbound links should come from sites that are relevant to your site content Partners should link to you from pages listing as few links as possible. The first thing is to get people to want to link to your website. This begins with having good web content. Analyze the value of your content in relation to your competitors. Next, you need to research websites that are worth linking to and that will drive relevant traffic to your website. Take your time to identify the directories, news sites, portals, blogs and ezines that are specific to your field. There are many software tools that you can purchase to help make this task more efficient. They will locate relevant sites, collect email addresses and even prepare letters requesting that the website link back to yours. Arelis Reciprocal Link Solution, Links Manager and Linkpro are but a few examples. Even if you decide to use software, its important to visit the websites that these tools generate. However, good quality content is still the best way to build long term link popularity. You can determine the websites traffic by visiting www.alexa.com you will also learn the length of time their site has been online. Going to link sites that will tell you how many sites link to them for further proof that they get a lot of traffic. One should keep in mind the following components when adopting a reciprocal linking strategy. You will need to know the name and email address of the person who runs the site, as well you should keep a record of the date you contacted the owner of the website and the date that he or she responds. You will also need to make note of the resulting deal. Dont be surprised if some people say no, while others will not reply at all. Some may want money for links. If the web owner agrees to swap links, verify that the links are in place and check the website periodically for the link. Some people swap links and then pull yours. When applied correctly, reciprocal linking is an excellent strategy for getting traffic and improving your search engine ranking.

In the last post, we talked about how getting high quality links from authoritative websites in your field can boost your search engine rankings. This time, we’re going to explore further into linking strategies, and how to determine and obtain “high quality” links. We’re also going to talk briefly about Google’s PageRank. <o></o>

<o> </o>

First, let’s examine a regular link. It’s a piece of text (or image, but we’re going for text) that links to your blog, and some of the factors that matter are<o></o>

1) The address which it links to<o></o>

2) The text of the link<o></o>

3) The PageRank of the page on which the link resides<o></o>

<o> </o>

Let’s analyze this information one by one. First, you’d naturally want the link to link to your blog, but to which page of your blog? To an individual post or to your blog’s home page? Since your blog is a constantly updated website, it is always wise to accumulate all the links to point to your main page instead if individual posts because they tend to be very time-sensitive.<o></o>

<o> </o>

The text of the link also affects your rankings for a certain keyword. Let’s say your blog is about technological gadgets and another site has a link that says “Barbie dolls” and links to your blog. Doesn’t make much sense, right? If a lot of links that link to your site contain the terms “technological” or “gadget”, it will greatly boost your rankings for those keywords. Hence, it’s essential to put some thoughts when requesting links from other webmasters as you want them to link to your blog with appropriate keywords. <o></o>

<o> </o>

Now, about Google’s PageRank. It’s basically a scale set by Google to measure the popularity of websites. You can read more about it on http://www.google.com/technology/. What is interesting is that the higher the PageRank of a certain website, the more frequent Google’s robots will visit the website to index it. Of course, the PageRank of a page will also help it to rank higher in Google’s search engine results. In short, having a high PageRank will bring you many benefits SEO-wise. <o></o>

The following link building strategy applies to blogs and any type of website.

As a general rule of thumb, the more links to your blog, the more the search engines think you are an authority in that particular niche and hence the higher they rank you. However, take care to observe the quality of the links. For example, a thousand links from totally irrelevant sites like online dating sites would not help at all because your blog is a technological product blog. In contrast, a single link from a highly authoritative site about technological gadgets will get the search engines crawling about your blog like the Feds storming a crack den…

Anyway, the most cost effective way of getting high quality links from authoritative sites besides submitting to web and article directories is simply to ask for it. If your blog contains high quality content that is original and will provide valuable information to the site’s readers, chances are the webmaster(s) will link to your blog or even write about you!

Let’s talk about how we should ask these webmasters of authority to link to your blog. We’re discussing this based on the presumption that your blog is really content rich and offer high quality information to anyone in your niche or topic of discussion. The most viable option would be to send an email directly to the webmaster.

First, let’s look for the top sites in your niche. Simply search the major search engines for the term that you’re targetting. In this case, let’s search for “technological gadgets”. The first few results, www.t3.co.uk and www.acarplace.com/brands/gm/gadgets.html are commercial sites, so don’t bother asking. We’re looking for community-based sites and other blogs that are more accessible to a complete newcomer like you. Seems like www.gizmodo.com would be a good option!

So, compose an email to the webmaster of www.gizmodo.com (whose email address you shall find on the site). They even have their AIM contact there, so it’s also a good choice if you use AOL Instant Messenger. Start by stating how you came across their site (i.e. “looking for gadget information”, NOT “looking for link partners!”) and how you think their site provides valuable info. Basically, try to say something really good about their site honestly.

Then, suggest that so-and-so content on your own blog will be a nice complement to their site’s content and vice versa. Put a link on your blog to their site and ask subtly if they might be able to do the same to weld a mutually beneficial relationship between the site and your blog.

Along the way, you might find people who won’t even respond to your email, so forget about them and move on. Remove the links from your blog to their site if they have not responded to your email within two weeks, which is a pretty long wait.

Keep doing this for the first 30 search results that pop up, and before long you should have quite a few good sites all linking to you. In the next article, we shall explore further the more advanced offpage factors, and ways to improve them!

What link building technique do you use?
