Using keywords in your websites and on your web pages is a proven fact that it will help you rank higher in Google for that keyword. The way in which you use the keywords however is an often debated topic in the online marketing world and even more so in the SEO world. The reason for this is because Google (and the little search engines) often change their ranking factors and rules so some things that were really effective last time are no longer as effective now. However, there are always a set of clear cut guidelines you can follow in order to approach search engine optimization with success.

Staying Ahead Of SEO.

Ok, I’m not trying to say you can actually see in the future and know what Google or any of the other search engines are going to do or change so that you can get top spot every single time, but instead teach you the rules that you should not break in terms of SEO. If you do break them then Google will both ignore your content but also can actually go as far as penalizing you too.

Spam Spam Spam!

Search engines do not take spam, or the sites that contain it, lightly. This is the most important thing you should remember. It used to be ‘acceptable in the eyes of search engine robots for your content to be 100% keywords with absolutely no meaningful text. However, this practice of keyword cramming or keyword stuffing is now something that does not go unnoticed and you will face a penalty for using this technique. Yes, keywords are important but you also have to provide solid and informational text for your visitors.

So, What Is The Correct Keyword Density Then?

This of course leads to the question posed by both seo experts, webmasters and content writers which is what is considered spam. The general consensus is that making sure your keyword is included between 5% to 10% was the best method and keyword density to use. This density would not get you penalized and yet still makes sure your site is obviously relevant to that topic. But others believe that it can be taken to as high as 20% without any negative effects to your site by the search engines.

Err On The Side Of Caution.

Ok the higher density’s of around 20% may not have had any negative effects on your site a while ago but if Google comes along one day and say’s that 20% is too high as most people who don’t even understand anything about seo would never have a keyword density of 20% by just writing normally then that would mean that your content and site would be penalized too. The search engines are designed to show sites that are informative and not typically created specifically to gain the rankings or finding loopholes. Thus sticking to a max of 10% (or so) is highly likely to product you a lot better results and for a longer time too.

Not Crossing The Line.

What you want to be doing is combining informative and helpful content along with your keyword and make sure it appeals both to your visitor and the search engines itself.

What Are Natural Keywords And Artificial Keywords?

Natural keywords are basically just keywords that you end up using on your own when you are writing an article on a specific subject. They are the keywords that just keep cropping up but these are not always the best keywords to be using. For example the key-phrase search engine optimization may be searched a lot but then the competition and amount of other people using that search term in their content is most likely in the millions. So changing it slightly and writing on how to do search engine optimization’ will have less searches but will also have a lot less competition and thus increases your chances of getting top position in the search engines.

Replacing Natural Keywords With Artificial Keywords.

It’s normally a lot easier to re-write an article and that is exactly what you are going to now do. Simply go through and replace that natural key-phrase with the artificial longer version and then make a few more edits to make sure it flows correctly for the reader.

Start From The Beginning With Your Artificial Keywords.

Another method is to look for your artificial keywords before you begin and make sure you have them in the back (or the front) of your mind when you sit down to write your website content. Because you are already thinking of the phrase you want to use you will naturally include it within the content of your site. It’s not a trick, although you may want to consider it a subliminal tactic if you wish, but it will work.

The Result Of Keyword Conversion.

By converting the artificial keywords to the natural ones this will directly result in content that not only flows for your readers but also will be keyword rich and have the right density for the search engines. As a direct result of this both your conversion rate and traffic will increase and cause you to earn more money.

Firms offering professional SEO services will use ethical or white hat techniques for optimizing your website and thereby boosting your website's ranking among popular search engines, while shunning away from unethical or black hat techniques frowned upon by search engines and which have a high probability of getting your website banned from the search engine listings.

Search Engine Optimization (SEO) refers to the usage of some ethical methods, processes and techniques for the sole objective of pushing higher a website’s display result ranking when some of the well known search engines are deployed for finding specific and particular keywords or phrases.

You need to use the professional SEO services offered by SEO firms to ensure that your website gets a high ranking in the search results.

Firms offering professional SEO services will use ethical or white hat techniques for optimizing your website and thereby boosting your website’s ranking among popular search engines, while shunning away from unethical or black hat techniques frowned upon by search engines and which have a high probability of getting your website banned from the search engine listings.

Let us go into looking at some of the white hat or ethical techniques followed by such firms in the business of providing professional and good SEO services.

1. Relating to Domain points: Short domain names that can be easily remembered, including short keywords without a hyphen separation, using .net or .com extensions for global markets, having site hosted depending on country or specific business markets, use of appropriate keywords in URL that are specifically applicable to every page of the website.

2. Technical aspect: These include the inclusion of the robots.txt file that restricts robots or crawlers from accessing your site, keeping the navigation structure simple, inclusion of good, unique meta tags for every page relevant to the contents of that page, ensuring confirmation of the site’s W3C standards.

3. Relating to other aspect points: Giving an accepted privacy policy to the site, filling the website’s contents with SEO copywriting, ensuring excellent keyword visibility and density in the contents of every page.

4. Relating to support service aspect points: Giving support services like rank tracking, SEO reports on a monthly basis detailing progress, index tracking and periodical website ranking checks, submission of the website to well known search engines and multifold directories, submitting the site to classifieds, origination and submission of articles, making up blogs and posting on them, originating and submitting feeds related to RSS to appropriate directories, handling public press release content creation and submission.

To help improve your knowledge on Search Engine Optimization and unambiguously sort of bad and good SEO services, we also need to look at the unethical techniques (also referred to as black hat techniques) that a good, professional SEO services firm wouldn’t dream of deploying. Only by understanding this difference will you be able to ensure your site even accidentally doesn’t deploy these techniques.

SEO firms deploying unethical (black hat) techniques deploy several methods and processes like article spinning, link farms, optimizing keywords with no relevance to your website, keyword stuffing, establishing links with sites that are either malicious or have bad precedence, creating doorway or gateway pages and hidden texts.

Such unethical SEO techniques are usually adopted by fly-by-night SEO companies offering dirt cheap rates for unwary customers. Such techniques will degrade the search result relevance of search engines and will eventually result in your website getting banned by the search engines.

When building these sites, it is important to keep in mind that the sites cannot be mirrors of your main site. This is definitely frowned upon by the search engines and may subject your site to penalties. It will certainly work to devalue your efforts.

Join the forum discussion on this post

Have you mastered getting your law firm’s website to the top of Google for your targeted keywords? If so, the time has come to explore new law firm SEO techniques.

It is important to keep in mind that getting your firm’s main site to the top of the search engine results pages for your targeted keywords is just a start.

Now is the time to consider building practice-specific sites that target a particular area of law that your practice.

This strategy involves creating additional sites specific to the different areas of law in which you practice.

The microsite law firm seo strategy, can work very well to grow your firm’s web footprint. By having multiple microsites, you will quickly see results for your firm.

When building these sites, it is important to keep in mind that the sites cannot be mirrors of your main site. This is definitely frowned upon by the search engines and may subject your site to penalties. It will certainly work to devalue your efforts.

Another important aspect is making sure the sites have valuable information on the topic on their own. You don’t want your micro-site to look “micro”. It should contain enough relevant information that it is authoritative on a topic by itself. A micro-site on employment law should cover enough specific information on employment law that it is considered authoritative by your visitors.

In this way, you can increase your exposure to potential clients because you’ve now got multiple sites working for you, not just one. Think of it as having multiple advertisements (although, having good rankings and multiple sites is far better).

This article provides some basic information about the law firm SEO strategy of practice-specific sites. However, there is much more to consider on this topic. Not implementing this technique properly, can lead to ineffective results. That is why it is important to fully understand the nuances of micro-siteing before diving in.

SEO is considered to be the most essential component of generating online revenue. The acronym particularly means search engine optimization. Simply stated, this alludes to the position of a URL in the search engines so as to be seen by users. A site that has good search engine rankings for highly targeted keywords will receive more visitors. And because these visitors are particularly looking for something that is related to that keyword, your site will obtain more visits.

A big number of visitors translate to remarkable sales. Alongside, with some tweaks and minor changes, you can up your conversion rate from a minimum of 1% to almost 3%, especially with pay-per-click or PPC advertising. Primarily, search engine optimization is reliant on backlinks and content. Backlinks allow the search engines to know that your website is linked to external sources and is therefore wanted by other people. Because of that, your priority as a novice business owner, would be to concentrate on generating backlinks and creating content.

Content

You may have heard of the saying “content is king”. This statement can only be considered partially true because what it should have said is “fresh content is king”. As a beginner business owner, you will want to drive a lot of traffic to your website. To achieve this, you have to consistently update your site with content. Unless your site is static and does not require a lot of updating, fresh content will drive the most traffic.

Moreover, you can also utilize highly targeted keywords to be able to receive the larges influx of traffic. When making content, it is also extremely essential to have distinct write-ups. The reason for this is due to the fact that search engines can easily see unique content. If your content is not unique or is a duplicate, search engines won’t be able to distinguish who the original publisher is.

Backlinks

The saying “build it and they will come” is barely credible in this day and age. If you will only depend on fresh updates as a generator of traffic, you wouldn’t reap the optimum results because there are no mediums or outlets for users to see your website. The search engines also trace backlinks to the source. Due to this fact, the search engines will reward you with more authority and acknowledgment, which in turn translates into higher rankings.

Some simple strategies wherein novice business owners can create backlinks for their site are through article marketing, commenting on related blogs, and posting on relevant forums. For a novice business owner, these are the simplest and most uncomplicated ways to generate backlinks. Article marketing is regarded to be the best way to have higher search engine rankings. This is executed by submitting good quality articles to directories, and attaching a backlink in the resource box. This carries more weight on the search engines because articles are much more significant than simple comments on blogs or forum posts. Nonetheless, comments and posts can still create remarkable results.

There are three important elements of your page design which add to your SEO; these are not the only things to take into account when building a website , but these are considered to be the three most important.

There are a number of different techniques which are referred to under the blanket term search engine optimization (or SEO). All SEO techniques have the same goal – making websites more visible to people through search engines by improving their placement within search engine results.

Most internet marketers focus their attention on the Google search engine. It’s no surprise considering its dominant position across the market. Even though this is a great place to start, SEONetworker Mastermind will utilize other search engines like Bing and Yahoo, even though the numbers are smaller. In fact, there plenty of smaller search engines that will give you a better chance at reaching higher rankings and getting more visitors.

SEO is an ever evolving process, Ferny Ceballos and Raymond Fong from SEONetworker Mastermind Group explain and teach how to stay on top of the SEO game.

There are three important elements of your page design which add to your SEO; these are not the only things to take into account when building a website (these can also be changed in an existing site), but these are considered to be the three most important:

1. Meta Tags – These are a very important part of optimizing your site for the search engines, since these are read by the search engine crawlers as they index your site. If you don’t include these, many search engines will not index your site at all, essentially making it invisible to search engines. These tags include:

Meta Title- This is the one tag you have to have in order to get indexed. Just take a look at the resource type and you will see it read “document,” just leave it alone.

Meta Description- Even though not all search engines look for these tags, it’s still important to use. If you keep everything short and concise (1-2 sentences), you will find it next to your page name in the search engine index.

Meta Keyword- It’s recommend that you place up to 12 keywords here. Just make sure they are relevant to the site’s content.

2. Navigational Links – One of the most overlooked areas is the navigational links. When setting this area up, make sure it either on the right side or bottom of the page. Crawlers will read the text of your site just like humans do. So the first 100 words is considered to be the most important. If you make them the names of your navigational links on the right or bottom of the page, then the first 100 words will be more useful when it comes to SEO. So make sure your most important keywords are present. Also be sure you don’t have a Java-script navigation bar in the area either.

3. Content – Obviously visitors want to see good content on your site. If you provide useful information and continue to do so, they will constantly come back for more. Adding updated information regularly will keep the crawlers coming back to re-index your site as it gets bigger.

This is something that Ferny Ceballos and Raymond Fong have been preaching for quite some time. So update your site with original content, instead of duplicated content. Your job as an SEO Networker is to create a plethora of traffic to your website and this is one of those ways.

If you are blogging for real estate leads, you need to understand that your blog post is only the initial step in the process. The steps following your post will really uncover your level of success in attracting traffic and subsequent real estate leads to your blog.

If you are spending any time blogging for real estate leads, which a lot of of us are, you understand the usefulness of having your subject matter found on the net. For some time I have been working to get the word out regarding the Real Estate Lead Generation Software provided through RedX and have learned a great deal with reference to search engine optimization in the procedure. What I have come to appreciate is that there is a lot more that goes into SEO than simply the original blog post. The steps following your post will really uncover your level of accomplishment in attracting traffic and subsequent real estate leads to your blog.

Steps To Accomplish SEO Success And Interest Real Estate Leads

Fundamentally a blog post is an investment in promotion. However, your return on investment is determined primarily through how many people read your blog and visit your site. Therefore, the more people you get to read your blog, the higher your return will be. This is the beauty of SEO.

The first step in the writing procedure should always be choosing a objective keyword. Once you have decided on a topic, spend a few minutes on google to notice how useful the phrase you are focusing on will be. To notice the level of competition, look next to the search box for the search results data. As an case in point, the competitive information for the expression “interest real estate leads is “Results 1 – 10 of concerning 4,230,000 for attract real estate leads. (0.55 seconds)” Since this article is competing with over four million other entries, it is unlikely to rank high on the search phrase “appeal to real estate leads.” Therefore, optimizing it for that expression may be reasonably futile and I should probably optimize this post to a less competitive expression such as “listing leads for Realtors”, or even “GRAR” which only has one million competitors.

After you have chosen your search phrase, draft your article using the target phrase in the text. Be sure to include the expression as part of your header tags as well as your subhead Back to our case, the expression Appeal to Real Estate Leads is in the tag of this post.

Next Start Your SEO Activities

This is the approach that I am now using to promote the RedX discount page.

* Ping your blog using a pinging tool to several websites. Pingler.com is a good instrument for this

* Use an article rewriting tool to create multiple unique versions of your article. Distinctive versions are desired so that each syndicated site that posts your article is counted as a unique back link to your real estate blog. I now use Magic Article Rewriter as my tool of choice.

* Offer your unique article to as many article directories as possible. I use two resources concurrently for this. The first is UniqueArticleWizard, the second is Magic Article Submitter. Both tools allow you to syndicate your article across the web over time which slowly increases your links and your search engine rank. Their actual sales pages are pretty cheesy, but the tools work great.

* Bookmark the post to StumbleUpon, Digg, Delicous, and the rest of the bookmarking sites. If you are using a Wordpress, Orlywire has an interesting instrument that allows you to automatically bookmark your post to your accounts.

* If you haven’t submitted your RSS feed to the several feed readers, then now is the time to do so.

* Put a copy of your article or post on your social networks.

All of the above sounds like a lot of work, and it does take with reference to an hour to complete all of the steps. However, where you may appeal to one or two real estate leads from the post alone, you can now expects a few hundred more people to find you from your search engine optimization activities.

A good and effective search engine optimization starts with knowing the facts and separating them from superstition, here are some basic seo facts and "seo superstition".

A good and effective search engine optimization starts with knowing the facts and separating them from superstition, here are some basic seo facts and “seo superstition”.

Superstition: All you need to do to improve your page ranking is to place keywords in the meta tags for your page.

Fact: Just putting keywords in the keyword meta tag is not enough, there must also be keywords in the page copy otherwise it could be considered spam depending on the search engine. Anything considered spam can actually hurt your rankings not improve them.

Superstition: Hiding text or links which contain your keywords will improve your search engine rankings.

Fact: While this was once both common practice and a good way to get your site noticed, it is now considered too be spamming and can get your website penalized, even banned from search engine results if you are caught doing this.

Superstition: The more reciprocal links you have to other websites, the better your Google page ranking will be.

Fact: Not necessarily so. If you are linked with some pages, such as FFA pages and link farms, his can make your ranking lower, not higher. What you should try to have is inbound links from sites which have quality content relevant to your site. While no one is exactly sure how Google calculates this, relevant links seem to be given far more weight.

Superstition: Most sites are optimized. What chance do I have of standing out?

Fact: Studies show that up to 60% of all websites are not properly optimized to rank high in search engines. The nature of search engines makes it difficult for web designers to properly optimize web pages for their clients. Always discuss optimization with your web designer to determine what services are included in the project.

Superstition: The more times you repeat the keyword in the page, the higher it will rank.

Fact: Search engines use their own standards to decide which pages will rank well. Keyword density is important and we all know this but what we don’t know is what the target keyword density is for SEO. Some say 3%, others 6%; no one knows with any certainty, other than that too many or too few keywords will get your page penalized in the rankings.

Superstition: Once your site is indexed by search engines, changes made to your site will not affect your ranking.

Fact: The opposite is true. In fact, you must update your website as often as you can manage to do so. Even fixing a broken link can help you out here – search engines will stop sending spiders if they keep running into broken links on your site. Updating and changing you content will ensure regular visits form the search engines bots.

Superstition: You don’t need a robots.txt file or a sitemap.

Fact: Search engine bots look for the robots.txt file to let them know if they are allowed to index the domain and what they can crawl. When you use a site map, search bots will follow every link on it. This gets your website completely indexed. Both the sitemap and robots.txt file need to be in your root directory of your domain.

Superstition: Search engines cannot index pages with Flash; using Flash on your page will lead to search engines penalizing your site.

Fact:While search engines do not index the Flash movie itself, they will index the text of the movie (you need to specify Flash text in your HTML) along with the rest of your page. Flash has no effect on the site itself in terms of indexing and does not keep your site from being crawled either. What search engines don’t like is websites which automatically re-direct, including Flash pages which do this. It’s the redirection, not the Flash which is the problem here.

When a site is submitted to the search engines the search engines uses software called "spiders" to crawl the pages of your website through your internal site navigation and captures vital information about each page and in puts it into their database.

If your website has not been indexed by the search engines you will not come up in the search results. When you search the “web” using Google, Yahoo or MSN’s search tools, you’re not searching the Internet you are searching the search engines databases.

When a site is submitted to the search engines the search engines uses software called “spiders” to crawl the pages of your website through your internal site navigation and captures vital information about each page and in puts it into their database.

The information captured include Meta tags, content, H1 tags, Alt tags, sites that you link to and sites that links back to your site. The Meta tags are at the top of your web page in the code. They are in what is called the header. The Meta tags are very important to the search engines because they tell them what is on the page.

Along with the H1 tags Alt tags and the content in the body of the text on the web page this gives the search engines the information they need to index or put into their database your web page. It is very important that your Meta tags are specific to each page of your site. Do not just copy and paste the same Meta tags to every page on your website. There’s a big explanation from that old and that later. There are several ways to get web pages into the search engines a database (indexed).

Submit your site to the different search engines. There are a lot of sites, for small fee, that will take your indexed pager homepage and submit it to hundreds or thousands of search engines over and over every month for the rest of your life. Run don’t walk away from the sites. If you keep trying to submit your site, especially to Google, Yahoo and MSN, this may appear to them as spam. Spamming is bad! I suggest that you do not even register with Google, yahoo or MSN unless you have 6 to 9 weeks to sit around and wait for your website to be indexed.

There are a variety of important things you need to do related to search engine optimization if you are going to be successful so here are some of the top SEO tips that you need to keep in mind.

Today there are more and more people who are realizing that search engine optimization is so important. However, if you’re just getting started with your own website online, you may be wondering what the basics of SEO really are. Well, you’ll find that there are a variety of important things you need to do related to search engine optimization if you are going to be successful. So, if you want to reap success, here are some of the top SEO tips that you need to keep in mind.

Tip #1 – Read Everything You Can on SEO – One of the most important tips to remember if you are new at marketing online is to make sure that you read everything that you can on SEO. There are many great SEO books out there that you can purchase to read that provide excellent tips and strategies that will help you out as you work with search engine marketing. So, if you’re interested in internet marketing and you’re just getting started, reading all that you can is so important.

#2 ? Find the right tool for the job. You have a lot of choices when it comes to search engine optimization and some will better meet your needs than others. You should definitely make use of these tools ? you’ll save yourself a lot of time in the process. Evaluate some of the SEO tools out there and use them as you build your site. You’ll have an easier time getting into the Google top 10 if you build your site with SEO in mind.

#3 ? Make your URL geared towards SEO. This is important. Search engines look at your URL and give it a lot of importance. If at all possible, use your keywords in the URL of your website. However, don’t get carried away with this and make your URL difficult to remember. When building the links from page to page on your website, use hyphens instead of underscores; hyphens are considered to be spaces by search engines.

#4 ? Do your homework with keywords. As you build your site, you should have already decided what keywords you will use. Make sure that you are using the best keywords for your site and build your site around them; the last thing you want is to have to go back and redo most of your content because you have used less than optimal keywords. You can find plenty of keyword tools which will do the work of researching for you ? use them.

#5 ? Use Pay Per Click Ads to drive traffic. Pay Per Click ads are one of the best ways to bring in traffic to your website as you get started. Google AdWords is probably the best PPC provider to try, this has the widest possible audience and is well worth the cost. Pay Per Click ads provide a cost effective way to bring in traffic quickly and are well worth your time and money to use as you seek to raise the profile of your new website.

Nine out of ten parts of the success of your domain name depends on the keyword analyzer. The remaining one part depends on your creativity. If there is no solution to getting the domain name of your choice, change the keyword.

The importance of a good domain name to a website cannot be undermined. An interesting domain name never fails to attract web surfers to click through and check out. If you think finding a good domain name is difficult task, you are wrong! Do you know where you can get a fantastic domain name easily without too much effort? A good keyword makes a good domain name,. It is very important to craft your domain name using suitable keywords. This is your lucky day-this article will teach you how it is done easily!

Your first objective is to find a search engine optimized keyword that you can use in your domain name. Use a keyword analyzer to get this done. You will able to find such tools by searching on popular Internet engines. Think of a sample keyword that tells about what your site is and enter it into the tool. The keyword analyzer will give you many different versions for the single keyword you used. Choose those keywords from this list that describe more about what your website is about. A rule of search engine optimization is to use low competition keywords because they increase your chances of getting found. Now, you can begin thinking about your real domain name.

The company that provides domain names will let you know if a particular domain name is available. The domain name service will also suggest alternatives if the one you put in is not available. Put in your keyword first – this way you can better use this tool. You will get other recommendations if this particular keyword is not available to use as the domain name. You must definitely consider any suggestion that has the main keyword and a .com suffix. You will have to use your creative mind to think of options if this is not present. By putting in filler words in the domain name, you may be able to find an available option that still keeps your keyword.

You can use ‘a’, ‘an’ and ‘the’ as fillers. These words are not considered by the search engines. So, they will index your site and you will have a very appealing domain name too. This is achievable even if you use some numbers like 45 or anything you prefer at the end of the phrase. There are some ideas to use if you get everything else but not the .com ending too. Read on.

With a very popular keyword, it does not matter if your extension is .com or something else. You may think of extensions such as .org, .biz and .net. Another trick is to use a state or country extension in the domain name. Consider this if you do not lay more stock with the difference between worldwide or local marketing. It is much better for your business if you are number 5 in the Italian version of Google than if you are number 500 in America’s version of Google. It is not complicated to have a domain name that serves well for your visitors as well as for the search engines.

Conclusion

Nine out of ten parts of the success of your domain name depends on the keyword analyzer. The remaining one part depends on your creativity. If there is no solution to getting the domain name of your choice, change the keyword.

A lot of thought must go into your landing pages, both from a search engine perspective and from a customer perspective. We can have a lot of traffic to our website but if no one is sticking around long enough to see if our solutions can solve their problems then that traffic does not mean anything.

Landing pages have the ability to grab and hold us like fly no-fly paper or repel us like jumping on the trampling. The question is what impact does your landing page have on the people who visit your website. As I talk to people who are just getting into SEO (search engine optimization), all they focus on our rankings in traffic. We have to remember that “rankings” in “traffic” or not the end but a means to the end. That end is visitors to your site that take advantage of the solutions that you offer. We can have a lot of traffic to our website but if no one is sticking around long enough to see if our solutions can solve their problems then that traffic does not mean anything.

A lot of thought must go into your landing pages, both from a search engine perspective and from a customer perspective.

Search Engine perspective:

This is covered in Search Engines 101 Paid Vs Natural Search so I am not going to go into detail here.

Customer Focused Landing Pages:

Your landing page has to do one thing, answer the questions that the searcher had in mind when he typed in his keywords. The searcher type in his search terms because he has a problem, needs a solution or is in some kind of “pain”. You have about two seconds to convince him that you understand what he is going through and what he needs. The last thing a searcher wants to see is that you can jump higher, run faster and do it better than the competition. He just doesn’t care (yet). Besides, most of the websites that he already visited probably stated that they do that. The challenge is to show the searcher that you have the answers to his needs. How do we do that?

1. Think of as many questions as you can that might be on the mind of a visitor to that specific landing page.

2. Choose one of the questions to be the title of that specific landing page. Use the other questions as sub points or topics in the outline of the page.

3. The content underneath each heading will be a description of the problem. It is very important that when you describe the problem you do it from your client’s perspective.

4. After describing two or three scenarios that your client may fall into closeout with the paragraph that describes your qualifications for dealing with the above scenarios. This is where you put in how me years of experience, the combined experience of your team or your experience in the marketplace.

5. The last thing is to have a call to action. The idea is that if your client falls into one of the scenarios described it would be natural for them to do the call for action to get help with their problem.

For example, if someone is doing a search on long-term care insurance they may only have a general idea of what you’re looking for. When they come to a landing page that has a question like “what happens to your nest egg if you suffer an illness or an injury that requires long-term care?” Then in the description of the problem they read that one year of long-term care can cost between $90,000 and $130,000 and as a result of this high costs it will either force you into bankruptcy or dependency on your children or family to take care of you. (Not a pretty picture.) After you add your qualifications, whatever they are, you put in your call to action. It could be something like “for a free quote and help in understanding what your options are fill out form below and one of our experts will contact you within the next 48 hours”.

So the question remains, are your landing pages flypaper or trampolines? Customer focused landing pages are worth the time and energy to produce. If you are not sure give us a call and we will do a free evaluation of your site. This will help determine whether or not changes or in order.

If you perform a simple search on video search or video SEO, you will be bombarded with numerous articles that try to explain this technique. Video search optimization, or Video SEO (VSEO) is a new bug that has bitten the world recently. Though it’s a new technique, still many companies have started using it aggressively to earn high ranking and more business.

To ensure that your video gets seen and discovered on these search engines, it is important to first learn some of the technical aspects that are important to online video as well as search.

As with Search Engine Optimization for webpages and text content, keyword research is an important first step. Prior to optimizing your videos, you will want to obtain a keyword target list. There are however, some difference with regard to how users search for videos vs. website and webpages. Namely, most users include the word “video” when doing a search. Make sure that your keyword list contains several variations with the word video, Examples – car videos, car video, racing video, automotive videos, etc….

Once you are through with this, next step is to look across the top video search platforms having the highest performance in overall views, ratings, and latency. The only way to measure your success is to view count.

You should also keep a track of the audience already searching for your targeted terms. In case you fail to find the same, find the closest related terms being searched. In video search engine optimization user feedback plays a very vital role.

You will want to encourage readers to submit feedback as studies show that users who provide feedback tend to be more active and easier to convert. In other words, those users that provide feedback, typically are more likely to call, email, visit your site, etc…

If you can do this, it is always better to pick a video theme that is not saturated in terms of competition out there. As an example, a video about Tom Cruise will likely be very hard to optimize for as there are thousands of results for that search.

Studies have shown as well that users who watch videos are less interested in watching videos that are more than a few minutes in length. Try to target your videos to be less than 3 minutes in total length. If you have a very long video, perhaps try to create multiple segments or clips from the video targeting videos with 1-3 minutes in duration.

You can even put the actual branding inside the video, such as text or domain name or specific URL as a graphic in the video. Of course, getting users back to your website or business is one great result for doing video SEO in the first place.

So, if you want to get your video discovered, view, and consumed by more and more users, video search engine optimization is the way to go. This is a great new technique for getting maximum exposure to your business, and currently, this is such a new topic, that you can be one of the first to capture your keyword or theme with a video search result.

Too much emphasis is being put on manual points of link building, like directory submissions. These are easy, but can also cause detriment. When something is too simple, it is usually that effective.

The amount of strategies available to SEOs and link builders seems to be endless, but the ones that are the best are not utilized often enough. You will get more bang for your buck by trying out proven methods that are not used often, while mixing in creative, innovative ones.

Getting back to the basics is key. The original way of link building was to send a message or call the webmaster of the site you want to a link. This is not remaining popular, due to the time it takes to communicate in this way to each site, having to state your case for each one, but it is, still, effective on a steadfast level.

Too much emphasis is being put on manual points of link building, like directory submissions. These are easy, but can also cause detriment. When something is too simple, it is usually that effective. When an SEO suggests this as a large part of their methods, it can mean they are using outdated means. While using several relevant directories, incorporating large amounts is not recommended.

Make your link building campaign Web 2.0-friendly. Every link builder’s goal is to have other people handle the tedious aspects of link building for them, and a well-planned viral media campaign can have that effect. Use “link bait,” articles written with the intention of gathering links. Write about sensational, reader-friendly topics and use catchy headlines. Write about trendy news, ‘hot topics’. Create fun or useful video content that’s attractive to link to and share.

The conventional way of thinking is misguiding in your link building efforts. Be leary of the myths, use ingenuity and you will be a successful link builder.

Keywords play a part in the way your site is ranked on search engines so you'll want to make sure you are using the right keywords to get those rankings up and bring those visitors in.

Choosing the right keywords for your website is important for a few reasons, but the main one is traffic. Without the right keywords, people may never find your site even if it has the exact information they are looking for.

Keywords play a part in the way your site is ranked on search engines so you’ll want to make sure you are using the right keywords to get those rankings up and bring those visitors in.

Here are several ways to choose the best keywords:

1. Use Wordtracker’s Free keyword suggestion tool or some other keyword research tool. This will help you figure out exactly what keywords people are really searching for, how competitive it is to get high rankings in the search engines for them, and even find some unexpected gems that you probably wouldn’t have ever come up with yourself.

2. Don’t only focus on keywords that get a lot of searches. These terms tend to be a lot more competitive, which makes it a lot more difficult to get high search rankings for them.

Think about who your competing with and possibly search for a better, less searched phrase to help target in on your market even better. You might consider some profitable keywords as well.

3. Include variations of your keyword phrases in more than one way on your site. Don’t overdo it by stuffing your site with keywords. People want quality content and if you have an article on your site that has your keyword phrase in it every other sentence they won’t stick around and what good is traffic if it leaves and never comes back?

These are just some basic tips to help you get started on the right foot. You can find tons of information on choosing the right keywords as well as tips for using them correctly on your site by doing a simple search online.

Research shows that only 40% of websites are indeed effective. You have spent a great deal of money in creating your website and maintaining it. You should understand the level of return it is making in your business.

In order to attract and continue attracting the right sort of visitors to your web site you need to ensure that it is effective in its delivery of information and functionality. If there is no value to your VISITORS then they will not return and to have them return is what you want. You also need to ensure that they take some form of action that leads to business opportunities for you.

Research shows that only 40% of websites are indeed effective. My personal experience would put the figure MUCH lower. How do you measure effectiveness. As the owner of the website you can answer that question by asking yourself – To what extent does my website positively contribute to the way in which I conduct my business.

It is critical in business to understand what your website contributes to your business and this should be measurable. Most easy is to examine the impact on your business bottom line figure. You have spent a great deal of money in creating your website and maintaining it. You should understand the level of return it is making in your business. If you are unable to clearly determine this then you may wish to consider performing a website audit with qualified consultants or website designers who can independently provide an unbiased opinion. In performing this audit consider the following aspects:

1. Document the processes – This is no different to any other aspect of your business. Every aspect of your site and its operation and support should be documented and managed to a plan. This is a valuable business asset. The review of its effectiveness should be conducted on a regular basis and in accordance with a documented plan. Be sure that your operational staff have an input to the design. Whilst web developers are good at creating terrific looking websites they are not business people and have little understanding of such so do not be lead by them in how your business should operate its website.

2. Does your website address your entire market – How many websites seek an international audience yet are only delivered in English. In Australia we are particularly notorious for this and so of en such websites seek out our Asian partners as a key target market. Even matters as simple as providing phone numbers without international codes or giving out 1300 or 1800 numbers without the local number. We sometimes overlook the fact that terms in our own country are not understood overseas.

3. Responsibility for an effective website belongs with you as the business owner. Engaging suitably experienced Web Architects can assist in delivering an effective design that will provide functionality that works with your business and an Internet marketing strategy that will promote your website responsibly.

4. The last aspect to consider is the integrity of your code – Be sure that all program code is without error and that all links go to an actual page. Misusing links are one of the greatest downfalls in websites. A number of websites provide free testing tools to verify W3C compliance, missing links or poor page upload speeds.

5. Treat your website with respect – You have spent a lot of money putting it together. You continue to spend money keeping it active. You pay far more for a salesperson who invariably is involved in activities that can be achieved through your website. Be smart, use your resources effectively and deliver better results

I have been operating web sites for the last couple of years. I have developed a proven method of getting the sites I run into the search engines quickly. I then use that same method to help get them to rank well for a small number of keywords, allowing the buoyancy effect to come into play for the rest of the site when one or two keywords ranks very high. In case you were not aware, when one or two keywords rank well within a given site, many secondary keywords enjoy a buoyancy effect and are lifted because of the nice rankings of the main keywords.

When preparing a site for launch I will initially review a few characteristics of the site. The first things I look for on the main pages are the use of H1 and H2 tags inside the actual text on the home page. The reason for the tags is that the search engine spiders will instantly look at text contained inside of the tags to determine the overall theme of the web site. When the right tags are used and the right content is available to support them, the search engines have a very easy time determining what the site is about and can more easily include or exclude it when they encounter users looking for terms that are on your website.

I will also look for the use of anchor text on the home page pointing to other main pages in the site. The use of image text should be kept to a minimum as I have been able to help many website owners achieve better rankings by moving the text away from the image and into the body of the website. The search engines cannot read images, so you miss an important opportunity to have them read the text contained within any image. The solution is to shrink the image, remove the text and position the text around the image in an attractive manner.

I always like to have a unique page for each main keyword of the site so it can highlighted appropriately. Search engines always like to be able to go to a page where the name of the page is the same as the keyword, it gives it an intrinsic value. An example is that of wedding flowers where the home page would contain wedding flowers in anchor text and point to a unique page with the title and html name of wedding flowers. With this convention in place, the search engines will know exactly what to do and will reward the site with the right theme and keyword indexing.

I also study the use of underscores and dashes. Lots of studies have been done concluding that underscores do not rank as well as dashes in naming conventions. I have no idea why it is so but it is so we should all follow the guideline. Even if everything else was exactly the same, it has been proven that two pages named graduation-day.htm and graduation_day.htm will not be rewarded with the same rankings. Many studies have been done proving the results so I always stay away from it.

I also will question the search engines to find out what they think the theme of the site really is. I have found the best tool to use is the Google Adwords Keyword Tool. I always enjoy finding out what the search engines think the site is about by looking at the main keywords it gives back as the result. I am always amazed to see what the search engines think the site is really about and then get to work fixing their perspective. Most often the issues are easily fixed by adding some H2 tags and by adding no follow lines to some of the links in the site. If you and the search engines disagree on the theme of your site the situation can easily be turned around.
