Very popular place to start your blog is Blogger.com and many people resort to their many features like: Very easy to use, free, plenty of features, simple uploading of photos, etc.

If you are Blogger.com user you probably have been looking for some different templates to use that are unlike their default designs.

Well I stumbled upon site with some nice free Blogger templates. Gecko and Fly have a very nice list of well designed Blogger Templates that are imported in from WP and are quite nice.

I personally use WordPress and have never tried Blogger.com.

The main reason for using WP is I guess the complete control and having it on my own domain. Setting up a blog on Blogger.com is by far easier but I still like to set up blogs using WP on my own host. Here’s a few good places for WP templates Codex.WordPress, Alexking.org, Weblogstoolscollection.com, themes.wordpress.net, Emilyrobbins.com, Webdesignbook.com and Bloggingpro.com.
