Increase Rank with Article Directories

May 13th, 2008 | By James Comer | Category: Article Marketing

When people search for information on the web through Search Engines, they want to find information about the topic they are searching for. So when search engines crawl the web in order to return most relevant results to a searcher,  the only thing that counts is unique and quality content (text) on the website. If your page doesn’t have much text, your page will not rank very well in search results. At the same time if your page has plenty of text, but it’s not optimized with themed keywords, you’ll probably rank poorly as well.

If you’re not good at article writing, you may consider private label articles. PLA’s usually consist of packs of articles that you may purchase from someone who sells articles in large groups but there are Free PLR packs as well. Often, there is a choice between purchasing a monthly recurring subscription where you will receive large amounts of articles via email, or you will be given a url whereby you can download the articles in zipped format. You can usually do a one-time purchase of these articles in a group.

Most of the time, the articles are already optimized for the search engines using keywords that have been arranged properly, with correct grammar as well as spelling and a reasonable generic focus. The best thing is that they belong to you to do with as you want. You will have purchased all of the rights to the use of the article, and you can change it in whatever way you want to. You can add or remove content and you are able to put your name to it as the author if you want to.

Following the picking of the ideal keywords for your website, and method of sales- you can spread the private label articles throughout your website. If you use well-chosen keywords in the right places, your pages will climb high in the search engines.

I’m sure you’ve seen some article directories that allow you to download as much content to use on your website as you want. The only requirement is for you to leave the resource box with the author’s information and links in it, unchanged.

You can use these articles for free on your site. They are free as in no-cost. Howeve,r you may lose some of your perceived authority, your customers and sales. If you use a few of these articles from experts, you may not have any problems. If however you use only free articles you are sending the wrong message. Especially if you are sending the customers that you aren’t too knowledgeable in the subject to be able to pen your own articles.

You are also providing all who visit your website a fast way out and onto your competitor’s website. They only need to click that link in the resource box to go onto the author’s website. If the article is written well enough to garner your attention, it most likely will capture the attention of your customer as well. It’s likely that they will go on to search for that same author.

The resource boxes can steal your sales as well as your customers. You aren’t even aware of when it is happening.

Other Ways Of Improving Your Search Rankings

If you use the article directory method and combine it with using private label articles your rankings should increase in the search engines. This is the way that others do it. Most articles that are submitted to article directories are accepted as long as they are written in accordance with the guidelines of the article directory. Ensure that you give your private label articles that you have written under your name, with your resource box, to the article directory as well.

The first thing that happens is this creates yet another link to your web site from the article directories. Every time the search engines find another link to your website, your ranking is boosted just a little more. The can be very beneficial if you ensure that your link contains your keywords. Since you are able to create the author’s box as you want to, you can make sure to use the keywords that you want to.
