There are millions of blogs out there, Technorati currently tracks 35.3 Million weblogs and over 75,000 new weblogs created every day. In addition to that, about 3.9 million bloggers update their blogs at least weekly and over 1.2 Million new posts per day. If you want your blog to stand out, you really need to create a blogging plan and stick with it. Here are a few tips for making your blogging “blueprint”.

You have to get your own domain. I see so many people trying to make it with the free blogs out there. With the cost of a domain and hosting so cheap, there is no reason not to get your own. This will at least show you care enough about your business to invest in it. There are hosts that are specifically for bloggers, head over to Best Blogging Hosts.

Next, you need to frequently link to blogs you respect, or would like to be like. Study these blogs and see how the owner is using his blog. Also, try to develop a relationship by offering good quality comments about this topic or blog post.

Hopefully, they are active in the commenting of the blog, and will answer you back. This can now be the beginning of a blogging relationship.

You can also use your blog as a reference.

I consider myself to be an internet marketer and a web developer. Because of the nature of these jobs, I am constantly looking up information and trying to solve problems. When I do, I now put this knowledge on my blog. This allows me to look it up again when I need it.

There are also blogging conventions monthly. If you can get some time off, then meeting these guys in person is an excellent way to build a relationship. Once they can put a name to a face, they will also be more likely to give you some publicity the next time yo might need some.

There are just a few of the ways to can develop a dominating blog. But first, you need to build some relationships, as this is the name of the game.

Your blog also needs to be optimized for search engines, for those tips start with Most Important SEO Tips and head over to some more blogging tips. If you need to learn how to set up a blog, watch these free videos!

If you are a blogger having an RSS feed option is a must for lots of good reasons and is known to help search engine optimization as well. Most if not all blogging platforms like WordPress already have RSS feeds built into it which makes it that much easier since you don’t have to set up the feed yourself.

Basically blogs first started out as a subscription style online journal for people to receive via email and later into their RSS feed readers. RSS feed is the format that allows your content to be delivered (and subscribed to) on the Web and an easy way to land your blog post in millions of people’s inboxes, and will possibly end up under bookmarks as well.

What’s really cool about RSS feeds subscriptions is that provides people with a wonderful array of blog posts daily without ever having to actually visit the blog itself. This means that one can grow a virtual subscriber base with one simple niche blog, and profit from the experience every time they make a post. Utilizing the power of blogging and RSS one can make some serious money by keeping people up to date with affiliate products, and services.

Since the RSS feed will deliver the blog to subscriber’s mailboxes, it makes sense to try to make some profit from such an advantageous situation. By offering affiliate products, one can provide their own affiliate link embedded into the blog for readers to click. Just don’t overdo or you might loose your subscribers, make sure there is a value (insight or personal honest review) in your posts as well.

A good example of setting up a blog for maximum RSS exposure is to write a blog post with hyperlinked keywords that are directly linked to your products or services. Make sure that the links are either live, or given actual URL’s in the actual post so that the user can stay within their own e-mail application while reading, and visiting the recommend site that you provide them with.

RSS feeds are a must do for anyone serious about getting online recognition and profiting off of blogs. Setting up the RSS feed is very simple and it is already setup on most blog platforms, which means it takes little or no time to do something that can help you in many ways. It can help your Search Engine Optimization efforts. Google and others spider and index rss feeds so your content gets picked up quickly.

A very popular way is to use free RSS service available from FeedBurner or any other such service. I personally use FeedBurner as it offers so many different options including email subscriptions, podcasts including feeds with video, making sure your feed works in any reader or browser and many more. FeedBurner is owned by Google so now you can also monetize your feed through their AdSense program.

So if you don’t have RSS feed setup on your blog or website, set one up or sign up with FeedBurner or similar service it will make big difference.
